break it down for me
Here we have Chianti Malfoy. Obviously she isn't your typical Malfoy considering her Sorting. Being completely opposite her 'dark-sided' family, Chianti is a brave, curious, friendly and adventurous sort. She enjoys the adrenaline rush of adventure, quenching her curiosity and endless questions to things, and making new friends. Stubborn, reckless and just a tad bit fiery, she's your everyday average lion. Though she expresses a bit of timidness at first, this little one can roar.[/blockquote]
the bad news always first.
So let's go on with the negative, Chianti is a stubborn sort. She isn't very fond of admitting she is wrong and won't back down so easily. Her stubbornness goes as far as testing her own boundaries in a rather reckless manner when it comes to rules and such that she is intended to abide by. She isn't one to easily change her mind about things and only certain people have the power to break her rather unyielding attitude. Though she is stubborn, Chianti knows her manners when it comes to authoritative figures, such as teachers, adults or parents. However, she won't hesitate to question one's view on things. Rather than keeping to the sidelines about things, Chianti will be one to question.
Moving on to her reckless behavior, Chianti has a bad habit of not thinking things through before she does something. Due to this, she is often caught up in sticky situations much to the dismay of herself and those around her. She follows her 'instincts' and emotions more than her head which can be both a good and bad trait. She never really formulates plans for things and just simply goes along with her emotions. It's a reason as to why Gryffindors are often taunted about their reckless behavior. She doesn't really think about the consequences to things which is probably why she tends to break rules now and then without really meaning to. Due to the fact that she's still a child, she has the childish notion of following through dares and taunts in order to prove her worth. It's a trait that her mother rages about.
She is secretly insecure about herself considering she is so different from her family. Because she's rather young, Chianti feels rather awkward about her placement in Gryffindor, though she hides it fairly well. Her insecurity makes her wonder whether she is really a 'traitor' of sorts and makes her wonder if she should change herself in order to fit her family's expectations and needs of her.this will all change in due time thoughShe also has the urge to please her mother due to the fact she could never achieve this back when her mother was in a more normal state of mind. She carries the burden of being blamed for her father's death by her own mother as well as her mother's damaged mentality. Chianti tends to beat herself up over things that are not truly her fault.
followed by the good news
On a more happier note, Chianti has a natural friendly and kind-hearted nature. She isn't afraid to go up to others and talk with them. She has the tendency to give most the benefit of the doubt and tries to observe an individual before placing judgement on them. Considering that Chianti values the justice of others, she tries to treat each individual with fairness unless they prove otherwise. Being the social butterfly type, Chianti is known to be a people person and isn't one to stray away from others so easily. She prefers to be around people rather than socializing by herself, though she doesn't mind being alone either. Her giving personality and kind nature tends to be both a strength and weakness for her. She is softhearted when it comes to those she cares about and tends to put her loved ones before herself more than anything else. Due to the fact that she's so soft hearted, even if a loved one were to harm her as her mother and father had often done to her, she has the ability to forgive, perhaps too easily.
Her never-ending curiosity results in this young Malfoy to question everything and want to know the answers to things. She enjoys to learn, as long as it's something that interests her. She's often caught exploring and going on random adventures in order to ease her boredom. She's quite the fearless young girl, not hesitating in entering some kind of creepy looking forest or house. Her bravery and courage result in her to often defend her loved ones in times of need as well as herself. It also gives her the ability to stand up for the things in which she believes in. Because of her giving nature, Chianti is one that is truly loyal to those whom she trusts and cares for.
H I S T O R Y
main family
PATERNAL - Father --- Alexander Malfoy. Former Slytherin. Elder brother of Lucius Malfoy. Deceased.
The moment of Chianti's birth, she shared a rather distant and cold relationship with her father. Feeling fear towards him, she would often try to avoid him as much she could. During her childhood years, she lacked the parental love from her father who had shunned her the moment she questioned the blood supremacy and prejudice ways of the family. Due to Alexander's cold behavior and lack of emotion, Chianti always secretly thought of him never loving her to begin with. After witnessing her father's death and not having done anything, she harbors a secret guilt over it.
Grandfather --- Abraxas Malfoy. Former Slytherin. Died of Dragon Pox.
Grandmother --- Mrs. Malfoy (nee Black). Former Slytherin. Deceased.
Uncle --- Lucius Malfoy. Former Slytherin.
Having shared a rather reasonable relationship with her uncle during her youth, Chianti really had no problems with Lucius. He would give her things she wanted or needed and like any uncle, babysat her during her more younger years. Presently, Lucius is Chianti's guardian and due to her sorting has changed his thoughts of his niece for the worse.
Aunt --- Narcissa (nee Black) Malfoy. Former Slytherin.
Perhaps it was because Chianti lacked motherly love and often sought it, but she preferred the company of Narcissa. She would tag along with her aunt everywhere after her mother was diagnosed with depression and perhaps out of all her family, Narcissa was the one that showed her the most affection. Like the rest of her family, her aunt's feelings towards her have changed for the worst after hearing she was sorted into Gryffindor.
Cousin --- Draco Malfoy. Eleven. First Year. Slytherin.
Chianti's once best friend through their childhood and older cousin by a month. The two were often glued to each other when they were younger and Chianti adored her cousin. He in fact gave her a puppy on her 9th birthday. Now, the cousins are more or less distant towards each other, especially since Chianti has drifted to the red and gold of Gryffindor. Chianti feels desperate to re-build their cousinly love again, though it probably won't be easy let alone possible. Since they were young, Chianti always addressed Draco as 'Cousin'.
MATERNAL - Mother --- Chantal (nee Beausang) Malfoy. Thirty-Seven. Former Slytherin. Widow. Suffers from Major Depressive disorder (MDD).
Chianti doted on her mother and despite being ignored, she followed her mother everywhere during her youth. Perhaps it was a mother-daughter thing, but Chianti sought more love from her mother than she did her father. After her mother was diagnosed with major depression, Chianti found the need to make her mother proud and take care of her as much as she could. Though it's difficult to tell, Chantal probably loves Chianti more than she lets on.
Grandfather --- Matthieu Beausang. Former Beauxbatons student. Deceased.
Grandmother --- Antlia (nee Black) Beausang. Former Slytherin. Deceased.
Uncle --- Antoine Beausang. Thirty-five. Former Slytherin. CEO of designer company in France.
Aunt --- Sandrine (nee Louchel) Beausang. Thirty-three. Former Beaubatons student. Famous fashion designer.
Cousin --- Artezin Beausang. Thirteen. Beauxbatons Student.
Chianti's oldest cousin. He attends the French academy of Beauxbatons, but the two still manage to maintain a close relationship. A fashion designer in the making, Artezin helps his mother style much of Chianti's outfits that they make for her.
Cousin --- Ayden Beausang. Ten.
PETS
Dog --- Drake. Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Birthday gift from Draco.
Chianti's beloved Pembroke Welsh Corgi who later proves to be a valuable asset of company during the later years of her life from her family. Given to her by Draco for a birthday gift, Chianti named the canine after her cousin, calling him 'Drake'. Smart, obedient and loyal, Drake proves to be a valuable furry friend for Chianti.
Owl --- Ciel. Female. Striped Owl. Gift from mother at being accepted into Hogwarts.
hometown: Wiltshire
birth place: Wiltshire
current residence: Malfoy Manor, Wiltshire

The French and wealthy Beausang family along with the equally weathly Malfoy family had decided to participate in an arranged marriage between their two eldest children. The eldest daughter on the Beausang's side, Chantal and the eldest son within the Malfoy's, Alexander.
The moment Alexander and Chantal met, the two couldn't have despised eachother any more than any other typical couple being involved in an arranged marriage. From learning about their betrothal by accident when they were 15 years old, the two began to compete on who could 'cheat' on the other the most. At first it was all fun and games until the couple began to realize that they were getting jealous of the people with whom the other flirted with. Soon enough, the two were forced together in detention one day and love blossomed ever so slowly from there. The moment they graduated from Hogwarts was when the wedding arrangements were made and before they knew it, the Beausang and Malfoy were getting married a month after graduation. Apparently the wedding arrangements were planned in extra advance.

Chantal then became pregnant with Alexander's baby a month after Narcissa became pregnant with Lucius's child. Being rather shocked with the pregnancy, Alexander began to go out a lot, joining the Death Eaters and leaving his wife suffering home alone with the side affects of being pregnant. While Chantal was at home, Alexander participated in the activities of the Death Eaters along with his brother. Though proud her husband was a Death Eater, she wasn't fond that he left her home alone a lot. As Voldemort grew stronger with each passing day, Alexander and Lucius grew more and more dedicated to their Death Eater duties. It went to the point where both brothers worked their way to top ranks of Voldemort's inner circle.
Chantal became so sick with being pregnant and was heartbroken at Alexander's dismissal of her, that she began to despise her unborn child. Towards the ending of Chantal's pregnancy, Alexander had put his Death Eater duties on hold and began to care for his wife once again, thinking that his wife may be pregnant with a son to carry on the Malfoy name. Alexander became disappointed when Chantal gave birth to a baby girl instead, feeling jealousy towards his younger brother for having been blessed with a son. Seeing that he had no son, Alexander went back with his Death Eater obligations and soon the First Wizarding War began to take place. Voldemort was rapidly taking over the wizarding world, placing fear in the hearts of all.
The daughter of Chantal and Alexander Malfoy was named Chianti followed by the middle name, Lyra, after the star constellation. Following with the tradition of the Black family being named after star constellations, Alexander decided to bestow her constellation name as her middle name instead as Chantal had pressed on 'Chianti' to be their daughter's first name. Lyra, the star constellation that Chianti was named after has Vega as the principal star of the constellation, one of the brightest stars in the sky. The constellation is also bordered by the constellation Draco, the star that her cousin was named after. Due to the fact that the cousins were so close in both age and birth date, Alexander believed that the constellation, Lyra, suited Chianti the most.
As Chantal stayed at home to care for their baby daughter, Alexander helped Voldemort and the Death Eaters reign more fear. As this continued for a year, until Halloween when the famous Harry Potter brought down the Dark Lord and ended the First Wizarding War. With the Dark Lord gone, Death Eaters faced trials and most were sent straight to Azkaban. The Malfoy family were lucky enough to create a lie to spare them the horror of Azkaban and so, Alexander and his brother left freely. Now that the First Wizarding War came to an end, it didn't seem possible that Voldemort would reign terror again. But who really knew the answer to that.
C H I L D H O O D
Growing up with wealth and riches, one would assume Chianti's childhood to be a pleasant one. Unlike her cousin Draco, who was loved and spoiled beyond compare, Chianti lacked such affection from her parents. During her youth, Alexander had attempted to teach Chianti the ways of their prejudiced family to which Chianti rejected or shot down with questions and disagreements. Since then, Alexander grew distant from his daughter, believing her to be 'odd' and 'not a Malfoy'. Due to Chantal's growing love for Alexander, she followed his every view and as such looked down upon her daughter as well, not truly accepting her as their own. On a more happier note, Chianti was able to enjoy her childhood thanks to her close relationship with her beloved cousin, Draco. The two often played together and spent every waking moment with one another, being attached to the hip if you will. She was also fond of her other cousin on her maternal side, Artezin, who would visit every summer and christmas. Due to the fact that the Malfoys and Beausangs knew many families, Chianti was also able to meet the children of other pure blooded families that her own were friends with. As a result, Chianti wasn't truly alone though her own parents paid no heed to her.
While exploring the forests nearby her home one day when she was 6, a thunder storm struck the area which frightened Chianti greatly. Being only 6 at the time, Chianti was terribly frightened and couldn't find her way home due to the terror she felt from the thunderstorm. Chantal who had been napping at the time, had awoken to no sign of Chianti in the manor. Seeing the thunderstorm outside, Chantal guessed that her daughter had went outside and quickly went to her aide. With the help of Lucius, Chantal was able to find Chianti by nightfall. The traumatized girl had found shelter in the hollow of a tree within the forest. Since then, Chianti harbors an irrational deathly fear of thunderstorms.
When Chianti was aged 8, possibly the most traumatizing experience befell upon her. The death of her father. When Chianti was around 5 years old, her father had been diagnosed with an unknown illness which he had kept hidden from everyone. At age 8, Alexander could no longer keep his illness a secret as the worst of it was coming upon him. He wasn't able to walk well and had spouts of seizures at times. Soon the once powerful Alexander Malfoy had to quit his job and accept the care of his brother and wife. He was then bedridden and Chianti watched in horror as her father steadily became more and more ill each passing day. Chantal only left his side when she needed to, staying at his bedside each day.
One day, Chantal had to leave Alexander in order to pick up his medicine due to some accident that happened in the hospital that delayed the delivery. Chantal left Chianti in charge of looking after her father while her mother went to get the medicine. While Chianti stayed within her father's room, her father suddenly began to have another seizure episode. Panicking and not knowing what to do, Chianti began to try and help her father. Though not knowing what to do was a major setback in this process. The seizure then became more severe and a very flustered and traumatized Chianti became desperate. Before she could even think of anything, her father began to steadily drift away before her eyes. Her father dying in front of her left a large impact on Chianti especially at her age. Upon returning home to her dead beloved husband and her crying daughter, Chantal began to instantly blame Chianti for Alexander's death and went into a mental state of depression. Not talking to Chianti nor noticing the world around her, Chantal was mentally unstable and emotionally/mentally damaged.
Due to her mother's state, Lucius, her uncle, became her new appointed guardian. Chantal stays within Malfoy Manor, receiving at home treatment from doctors within St. Mungos. Chianti carries the burden of being blamed for her father's death as well as her mother's depression.
Starting her first year at Hogwarts three years later, Chianti is excited. However, unknown about the awaiting trials before her and what fate has in store for her, Chianti will need to face her differences she has compared to her infamous Malfoy family.
F I R S T Y E A R
Chianti's first year in Hogwarts starts off with all good excitement that is, until the completion of the Sorting Ceremony. Expecting to be a Slytherin like the rest of her family, she is shocked to learn that the ragged old hat shouts 'Gryffindor' instead.
