nobody knows: that cordelia has a knack for art and tends to paint a lot in her spare time. it's not something she likes to share, it's something she holds closely to herself. the fact she has a strong fascination for tranfiguration is also muted, and nobody knows that she is very interested in those who are metamorphmagus. it amazes her and is something she is in awe of. to cordelia it seems wonderful, to change appearance at will - and to be born with it, not something you choose to learn like becoming animagus or done through potions and spells. she finds these people to be special, both envious and in wonder of their kind.

There are moments of tenderness and encouragement from Meredith, but these are rare and sparse. When Cordelia was first born, her mother found it hard to take care of her. Meredith wasn't prepared to be a mother and hired a nanny to help look after her. At first, Meredith only regarded Cordelia as a reminder of a relationship she lost. She doesn’t really know her daughter; see’s too much of her father in her thus doesn't want to get too close. A rather proud women of appearances, she would rather Cordelia was more dainty and proper rather than sullen and quiet.

She doesn’t like his hulking stature; his irritating laugh; how he speaks so profoundly about the dullest things. Overall he irritates her, and she finds him to be a complete mismatch for their family. Strongly embarrassed by him, she doesn’t ever mention him to anyone and is quick to hide letters she receives from him and her mother as they are often enchanted with spoken greetings.
